The wheels of the crane bear the weight of the entire crane and are wearing parts. When they reach a certain level, they need to be replaced with new ones.
Bridge cranes are located at high altitudes, and changing wheels is a very dangerous job. Necessary safety precautions must be taken. It’s best to ask professionals to do it.
- Preparation:
- Obtain the necessary tools and equipment to confirm wheel type and specifications.
- Confirm the location and quantity of wheel supports.
- Turn off the power, check whether there is voltage inside and outside the electric controller, and remove the cover.
- Remove the old wheels:
- Remove the shaft cover, shaft pin and locking pin.
- Be careful to avoid damaging the axle or wheel bracket, and remove the old wheel.
- Clean the wheel supports, especially the wheel seats and wheel grooves. If damaged or worn, it must be replaced.
- Install new wheels:
- Install according to the matching method of the shaft joint and the wheel.
- If using a disc spindle, use special tools to install the spindle disc and locking nut.
- If using a gear-type shaft, use special tools to install the shaft and two bushings.
- After the wheels are installed, install the axle pin, locking pin and axle cover.
- Inspection and debugging:
- Use lifting equipment to check the verticality and concentricity of the replacement wheel.
- Check whether the wheel rotates smoothly and whether there is friction between the wheel and the axle.
- Turn on the power, turn on the switch, and check whether the wheel rotation is normal.
